Hugo Corden-Lloyd

Hugo is a Senior Associate in our London office. He has a history of assisting clients with a full spectrum of intelligence requirements, covering legal, reputational and security concerns. He has specific experience in the mining, transport & logistics and defence sectors.

Hugo has worked on behalf of leading law firms and multinationals to solve complex problems in challenging environments. He has spent significant time working in Sub-Saharan Africa, gathering intelligence critical to the continued operations of international mining companies. He has also worked on numerous cases in support of clients with interests in the aviation and maritime sectors, leading global fleet mapping exercises and sanctions avoidance investigations.

Hugo has significant experience with international asset traces, including on behalf of creditors seeking to enforce against sovereign states. He has also worked on a variety of bribery and corruption investigations, helping identify key witnesses and whistleblowers, and has specific experience in carrying out counterparty due diligence on behalf of companies looking to transact in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Project highlights:

• Established sources within the inner circles of a Presidential office to inform a client as to the government’s position vis-a-vis sensitive commercial renegotiations;
• Global asset trace of a Middle Eastern state in support of enforcement proceedings relating to a multi-hundred million dollar judgment award;
• Global fleet mapping of a shipping company alleged to be actively engaged in the purchasing and transport of Iranian and Venezuelan crude oil in breach of international sanctions.
