China's political, economic and country risks

Taking a look at China's domestic challenges and how they affect business

Tim Powdrill and Nancy Zhang presented at the November K&L Gates' seminar on managing political, economic and country risk, reviewing some of the key domestic challenges arising from confronting geopolitical challenges facing China and the future risks to businesses.

Tim Powdrill holds responsibility for coverage of Asia-Pacific in Risk Advisory's Intelligence & Analysis department. Since joining the company he has worked on the Security Intelligence & Analysis Service (SIAS), as well as a range of bespoke strategic intelligence reports and security risk and threat assessments. Prior to joining Risk Advisory, he worked as a regional analyst and journalist based in various parts of Asia and Germany.

Nancy Zhang has worked for Risk Advisory since 2011. Since joining the company she has been responsible for managing due diligence investigations in Greater China and north-east Asia. In this role, she has carried out a range of assignments covering pre-transactional due diligence, fraud-related enquiries, strategic intelligence and anti-corruption due diligence. Prior to joining Risk Advisory, Nancy worked as a journalist in Shanghai, China.
