Mitigating a bank’s people risk

For almost a decade, we’ve worked with a leading investment bank to develop and evolve its employee screening programme, as part of its approach to mitigating its people risk. We support them at several screening levels, from interns through to FCA senior manager functions.

Screening components range from database checks, such as identity documents, financial probity, business interests and negative media, to mainstream referencing to confirm previous employment history and verify educational qualifications. Harnessing online screening

A Risk Advisory client wanted to ensure that its employee screening programme was fully managed online, for both candidates and their HR team. Using our Intrinsic screening application, we built an online candidate questionnaire and agreed a ‘rules-based’ workflow process that exactly matched the client’s existing HR recruitment and on-boarding procedures.

The firm has a high employee attrition rate and the population being screened has proved to have an above average level of material discrepancies. We’ve also worked directly with a number of their contractors to ensure a consistent level of screening is conducted for all on-site staff.
