Tim is Head of Risk Advisory’s Disputes and Investigations practice, based in London. 

Tim works with clients and external counsel who require strategic input in different contentious scenarios, including arbitration and litigation proceedings. This ranges from gathering intelligence and evidence, investigating specific allegations, or identifying assets for enforcement purposes. He has conducted complex asset tracing assignments and large-scale investigations in several jurisdictions across Europe, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Tim joined Risk Advisory after spending four years at an international intelligence consultancy. He began his career as a lawyer; he trained and qualified in the Dispute Resolution group of Slaughter and May in London and spent several years in private practice acting on large scale regulatory investigations, commercial disputes and white collar crime matters. He is recognised as an individual practitioner for his expertise in Chambers and Partners Litigation Support Guide 2023 edition.

Tim graduated from the University of St Andrews with a first-class degree in Modern History and International Relations before studying law as a postgraduate at BPP University in London.

Project highlights:

  • Advised a multinational pharmaceuticals company on a conflict of interest scenario at c-suite level in their MENA subsidiary.
  • Project lead on a multi-phase investigation into bribery and corruption in the natural resources sector for a government ministry in West Africa.
  • Led a cross-border strategic project alongside external counsel for an international oil company in the context of public international law proceedings regarding historic allegations of human rights abuse, misconduct and corporate wrongdoing in several jurisdictions in East Africa.
  • Advised a FTSE 250 listed company in a crisis situation regarding allegations of modern slavery within their supply chain in Europe.
  • Conducted an investigation for an international law firm regarding human trafficking in the garment industry in South East Asia.

I am a lawyer by profession – I trained and qualified with an international firm in London and spent several years in private practice before moving into the risk management sector.
