Patrick Lord

Over the course of a 25+ year career, Patrick has specialised in providing high-quality information and advice related to emerging markets. Starting his career with the Financial Times in London, he subsequently spent 10 years with risk consulting firm Control Risks based in Pakistan, India and the UAE. During that time he opened new offices in Islamabad, Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, and was latterly responsible for all of the firm’s consulting practices in the MENA region. More recently Patrick was the European Managing Director for geopolitical risk adviser Horizon Engage, and previously was an investor and partner in Diligencia, a leading entity data and analytics company that focuses on the Middle East & Africa.
Patrick studied Classics and English at Oxford University and was awarded a Double First. He also completed an operational tour of southern Iraq as a reservist with the British Army in 2004-05.
