Patrick Kelkar has joined The Risk Advisory Group as Managing Director of Americas. Based in New York, Patrick will advise the firm’s clients on commercial opportunities in an increasingly complex and challenging regulatory environment. The appointment is a critical milestone in Risk Advisory’s wider growth strategy, which is focused on leveraging creative investigative techniques to support clients around the globe in a variety of scenarios.

Over the last several years, as global enforcement agencies have increased anti-corruption efforts, there has been a dramatic uptick in cross-border investigations and more frequent cooperation between international authorities. Fraud and dispute matters related to digital currencies are on the rise, and there is a growing need for robust fact-gathering investigations in support of litigation. Patrick is well placed to help Risk Advisory’s Americas-based clients meet these challenges, among others.

Chris Rowley, Risk Advisory’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “Patrick shares our passion for delivering the highest quality, ethically-sourced investigative work. He is well-positioned to help our clients navigate ever-evolving regulatory challenges and seize significant opportunities, particularly in the Americas, where we are seeing increased demand for our support.”

With more than 25 years of experience in conducting investigations worldwide, Patrick has particular expertise in managing complex transnational fraud and corruption cases. Prior to Risk Advisory, he led and conducted high-level projects in more than 130 countries, including due diligence, litigation support, asset tracing, internal investigations, and fraud and corruption investigations on behalf of counsel, international organisations, and corporate clients. Patrick has also conducted investigative work on the ground in approximately two dozen countries, including in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

“Risk Advisory’s team has a strong global reputation for conducting quality investigations and delivering world-class intelligence. I look forward to collaborating with this esteemed group of professionals to enhance the firm’s footprint in the Americas and continue to offer the highest calibre support to clients,” said Patrick.

Prior to joining Risk Advisory, Patrick served in senior investigative roles with Quinlan Partners, Nardello & Co., and Mintz Group. He also worked with the World Bank’s investigations unit and the Volcker Committee investigation of the United Nations Oil-for-Food Programme in Iraq.  Patrick began his career in the Dispute Analysis & Investigations practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).  For the past two years, Chambers and Partners’ Litigation Support Guide has ranked Patrick among Band 1 for business intelligence and investigations professionals in the U.S.
