BookRunner® User Tips
Did you know that
- If you place your cursor in any field on a form, clicking the F1 function key will display a properties window for that field? The info window details such aspects as the field name in the back-end database table, whether or not the field is mandatory, and maximum character length, among other properties.
- If you want to repeat a query that was previously executed on an open form, you can hit the F7 function key twice to bring back the last query used?
- On any form, you can set defaults so that when you close and reopen a form, the parameters or fields are already set with your own defaults? To do this, open the required form, enter any fields that you would like to have populated upon opening, and click the Set Default icon

- If you are entering information, but cannot navigate in the form because you keep getting an error message <Field> must be entered, you can click the SHIFT + TAB keys to get out of that field?
- If you are scrolling through a List of Values that contains numerous items, you can narrow down the selection by typing in the first few letters of the value you are searching for? For example, if you are viewing the Counterparty LOV and you need to select Cparty 1', you can start typing Cp' in the Find field on the LOV window to have the system scroll directly to the counterparties starting with Cp'.
- The BookRunner® wildcard character to use when querying is %. For example, if you wanted to query for all transactions that have a start position date in the month of September 2005: click the F7 function key, enter %SEP-2005' (substituting the % sign for the day value depending on the date format set in BookRunner®), and then click the F8 function key to execute the query.
