RiskAdvisory Regulatory Summit 2004 Provided More than Just Hot Air in the Windy City
By David Ahrens

On October 21st and 22nd, the RiskAdvisory Regulatory Summit 2004 was held in Chicago. Focusing exclusively on the issues pertaining to the management of commodity price risk by regulated gas and electric utilities, the Summit attracted 50+ representatives from North American energy utilities, energy markets, ratepayer representatives and regulators. The diagram below illustrates the geographic range of our delegates/speakers in more detail.

A unique approach at the Summit was the use of an Audience Response System. Attendees were given the opportunity to answer a variety of questions pertaining to the subject matter in real-time. These findings were displayed right before their eyes and provided the instant feedback that participants wanted. A press release was prepared using the findings and can be read in its entirety in this issue of RiskNews. See the article entitled Utility Regulatory Process Viewed as Costly and Ineffective

Initial plans are already underway for the 2005 Summit. To receive Summit information as it becomes available, you can register at http://www.riskadvisory.com/summit2005/details.htm
