An Impressive List of Presenters Has Been Lined Up to Speak At The 2005 RiskAdvisory Utility Risk Management Summit
By Tim Simard
RiskAdvisory, a division of SAS, is hosting our third annual Utility Risk Management Summit in Chicago on November 9 and 10 at the InterContinental Hotel. This is a great opportunity for regulated natural gas and electric utility representatives to attend a highly-acclaimed conference that provides great information and generates captivating discussions around the management of commodity risk by energy utilities.
This is an area where utilities are at material risk with respect to public perceptions around utility mismanagement, and the potential for regulatory disallowances that could seriously damage their financial performance.
Interested staff at utilities include those in the trading/marketing function, those in the middle office risk management area, and those in the regulatory area. Last year we had over 30 utility representatives in attendance from gas and electric utilities across North America, and we are expecting in excess of 60 utilities will be attending this year.
We have lined up an impressive group of speakers which includes:
Laura Brooks VP Risk Management and CRO PSEG
Ric Gale VP Regulatory Affairs Idaho Power Company
Jan Marsten VP Gas Supply and Transmission Terasen Gas
Craig Goodman President - National Energy Marketers Assocation
Paul Cicio Executive Director Industrial Energy Consumers of America
Brad Leach Sr. Director, Electricity and Natural Gas Research NYMEX
Ron Henderson Manager, Regulatory Affairs Utility Consumers Advocate (Alberta)
Brent Sanderson Sr. Gas Cost and Hedging Analyst Manitoba Hydro
